The Studio Open Call Submission Fee

This product covers the $20 CAD non-refundable submission fee for The Studio open call exhibition at Gallery 881. The submission fee includes production for the Centre Room works-on-paper presentation.

If you indicate that you would like to be considered for the Front Room Exhibition and your work is selected, your paid $20 submission fee will be applied toward the production cost of your finished Front Room artwork.

Gallery 881 Members receive one free submission and do not need to pay the entry fee. To access the free member submission option, members must log in to their Gallery 881 account to retrieve their unique promo code.

Each artist may submit one artwork. Gallery 881 intends to include every eligible submission that responds to the exhibition theme, with one work per artist. The Selection Team will determine which works are invited into the Front Room Exhibition and which works will be included in the Centre Room works-on-paper presentation.

PrintMaker Studio will provide $1,000 in Artist Support Draws, including custom framing and fine art printing credits. Recipients will be selected by random draw from eligible open call submissions, including eligible Gallery 881 Member submissions. Artist Support Draws are separate from the curatorial selection process and do not affect Front Room or Centre Room placement.

Please use the same name and email address for payment that you used on your open call submission form. A submission is only considered complete once both the submission form and payment have been received, unless you are using a Gallery 881 Member fee waiver.

Submission and payment of the fee do not guarantee placement in the Front Room Exhibition. Submissions that do not meet the exhibition theme, eligibility requirements, file requirements, or content standards may be declined.
